Jayson Schimmenti serves as Executive Director of DMGS’ Washington D.C. office. In this role, Jayson represents clients’ interests before Congress, the Administration, and various federal agencies.
Jayson brings six years of experience on Capitol Hill, having most recently served as Legislative Director for Representative John Moolenaar (MI-04). Previously, Jayson served in various roles for Rep. Tom MacArthur (NJ-03), including Legislative Director. During his tenure on the hill, Jayson managed a diverse legislative portfolio, including appropriations, healthcare, education, labor, taxation, financial services, and trade.
Jayson also served as Associate Staff to the House Appropriations Committee as part of Representative Moolenaar’s role as a Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies Subcommittee member. This subcommittee is responsible for the largest share of discretionary spending appropriated by the twelve Appropriation subcommittees. In addition, Jayson was also responsible for the office’s appropriations requests under the Financial Services & General Government and State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs Subcommittees’ jurisdiction.
Jayson also brings expertise in state government, having served as a Legislative Aide in the New Jersey Legislature. Jayson also enjoyed various internships in Trenton with Governor Chris Christie and the New Jersey Republican Party.
While Jayson has spent his career working for Republican legislators, he has built strong relationships on both sides of the aisle. Including his term as Professional Development Director for the LGBT Congressional Staff Association. At that time, he was the first Republican staffer to serve on the Board of Directors in ten years.
